03 / EDITORIAL WEBSITE

Independent concept

Give good content a place to belong.

How can a content-led website make someone want to slow down and read?

Folio is an independent editorial website study. I used a strong type hierarchy, a quiet palette and short, purposeful reading paths to give the content room. Its identity comes from the composition itself.

Behind the interface

Let the writing lead.

Distinct title, introduction and reading styles make the page easy to scan before someone commits to an article. A warm paper surface creates separation from the surrounding portfolio.

Use restraint as a design decision.

A small set of type sizes, rules and numbered entries gives the website an identity without decorative imagery. Colour supports hierarchy; it never carries the meaning alone.

Keep reading accessible.

Each sample note opens with a native disclosure. The content is available without JavaScript, several notes can stay open, and keyboard focus remains visible.

Self-initiated editorial website and front-end study. The publication and sample writing are illustrative; no client affiliation or commercial results are claimed.

THE QUIET ISSUE / DESIGN, WORDS & THE WEB

Good ideas.
A little room to grow.

On making space for the details, the questions and the work that deserves a second look.

A closer look.THREE NOTES FROM THE JOURNAL
01Start with a question.
The layout can wait.

What should someone understand, feel or do after visiting this page? A useful website starts with that question.

Write the answer before arranging the interface. Give the most important idea the clearest place, and let each detail help someone reach the next step.

02What happens
between the clicks?

A button has more than one moment. It is seen, approached, focused, pressed and followed by an outcome.

Those small transitions help an interface feel understandable. A visible focus ring, a useful label and a response that arrives where expected often matter more than a complicated animation.

03Room for the reader.

Space gives a paragraph a boundary, a heading a purpose and a reader somewhere to pause.

At smaller sizes, that space has to work harder. Keep the reading line comfortable, preserve the hierarchy and let the layout change without making the content feel like an afterthought.
